One friend talked to me about: memcached .
As I found this interesting I looked for possible tcl interfaces and I found: Jeff's tcl interface to memcached .
Redis is a similar project by Salvatore Sanfilippo with a built-in Tcl binding.
And let's not forget the granddaddy of them all, Metakit.
